vegetarian soylent green

the world is a scary place. people will do anything to get what they need. and people need soylent green. but there is an obvious moral confliction. what are we left to do?
never fear. I have the solution - vegetarian soylent green.

if none of this makes any sense. maybe you should rent the movie soylent green.

I really can't say you should. but maybe.

this recipe produces a humane option for sustenance, and tastes delightful too. (kinda like cheez-its)

  • 2 cups of spinach
  • 2 cups of cheddar cheese (I like sharp white)
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 tsp salt
first mince the spinach up super fine into a spinach paste. then grate the cheese. combine all of the ingredients into a soft dough, adding flour as necessary, in a microwave safe bowl. mix it together the best you can, if necessary stick it in the microwave to melt the cheese throughout.
then roll out the dough to about an eighth of an inch. cut the dough into little squares, and bake them for about twenty minutes, or until browning lightly on top at 350 degrees.

they taste better than they look.

and just for fun here is the promo paragraph from the back of the dvd.

In the year 2022, earth's face has completely changed. New York's population, for example, has grown to 40 million mouths to feed. The greenhouse effect has risen the temperature into nearly unbearable regions, and the people are kept in the cities by law. The rich live in separated luxury apartments (with women as part of the rented furniture) but also experience the lack of natural food. Strawberries are at $150 for a glass of them. Police Detective Thorn investigates a strange murdering case of an official from the Soylent corporation, which feeds the masses with a palette of their creations: Soylent red, yellow, or, even more nutritious, green.

This soylent green is Charlton Heston approved!
